CONTEMPORARY MUSIC ENSEMBLE „SYNAESTHESIS”
Karolis Variakojis (conductor)
Vytautas Oškinis (flute)
Artūras Kažimėkas (clarinet)
Diemantė Merkevičiūtė (violin)
Monika Kiknadzė (viola)
Gunda Baranauskaitė (cello)
Marta Finkelštein (piano)
Six instruments – flute, clarinet, violin, violin, cello and piano, the sound of which is well known by all melomani, will reveal unexpected solutions of sounding. The unconventional expression, revealing new sound perspectives in the imagination, will sound differently – ironically, dramatically, romantically, insolently … and always originally.
The provocative title of the programme—COOL PEOPLE PLAYING STRANGE MUSIC—appeals to the image of contemporary music in Lithuania – “strange”. But young and energetic ensemble “Synaesthesis” propose their own attitude – it’s “cool”, dynamic and interesting music that allows you to better understand the contemporary musical phenomenas that reflect our time and its diversity.
