Kintai – Martynas Pekarskas painting exhibition
Martynas Pekarskas is an artist born in Kintai.
This young artist started his creative path having been hidden in his studio in Kintai town. Nevertheless, only eigth years later (after graduation from Klaipėda Eduardas Balsys art gymasium and Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts) he dared to reveal the results of his creative practices to the local audiences. The exhibition called “Kintai”—according to the name of the artist’s birthplace—consists only of the works accomplished in Kintai. The topic of the exhibition is individual changes in a person’s character that he has to face along his life road. As the author describes: “I have been lost in the woods, alone. I came back only when I managed to find the voice for my pictures to communicate with the audience. I was there with my brother which had to stay there in the woods because he was not able to go through this journey along with me any more. So I left him in the area of the holy mountain”.
The exhibition consists of large scale canvases painted with acrylic paint or industrial enamel. Additionally, walking through the exposition, the visitors can take a closer look on the written stories that accompanied the author during his journey.
